Medical science is conceptually the deepest as well as having the heaviest volume of memorisation. It not only builds on your knowledge from foundational biology and chemistry, but it also requires that you apply these concepts to a higher level. Many students view medical science as the most interesting of the foundation topics as it has clearer relevance to medical practice and disease pathogenesis.

This course will comprehensively cover the foundational concepts and content as expected for a first-year university student, including pertinent information from “out-of-scope” sources such as textbooks. The information we provide aligns closely with most pre-medical programs in NZ and Australia but rearranged and restructured to be easier to understand for high-school leavers.

By the end of this course you will:

Learn and be able to apply medical science concepts in most relevant contexts for University curricula
Gain a strong conceptual understanding for the frameworks of medical science, to the level of an A+ student
Appreciate the finer details and nuances expected of an A+ level student, as well as how they fit into the conceptual frameworks

💡 Learning tips are integrated into this course. As you progress through the content, you will learn how to study smarter.

Medsci can be fun 🙂

Medsci 142 is the hardest paper in premed, in my opinion, it's twice as hard as Biosci 107. It has so so many facts and they can be challenging to digest. However, Finley made it a lot easier by breaking each block into little sections, and I'm very impressed by how he can condense a 1-hour lecture into a 15-minute video. This course will make your Medsci study much easier and enjoyable!
